LADIES ASSOCIATION

Ladies Association has been one of the active departments of the G S S college providing a platform to the girl students as well as to the lady staff members. They showcase their interests and talents in different fields using this appropriate stage. The motto of the association has been to empower women in every walk of life, especially the girl students. Many students use this opportunity to launch themselves in their fields of interest. Every year the association organizes many activities in this regard such as guest lectures, interaction with the experts ,celebration of women’s day and appreciating and honoring the talent of women’s skill . The association tries to explore the hidden talent in the students. It organizes many exhibitions and competitions for the students. The students participate in competitions like singing, dancing, cooking, rangoli making, painting and many more. It also organizes intra-collegiate competitions to give an exposure to the girl students of the college. It also takes care of women’s health and personality development. Mrs. Bharati Solapurmath, Asst.Professor of Botany Department is the present chairperson of the association who is in the charge since 2015 along with following members of the committee.

3) Mrs. Vidya Kamnuri – Department of Mathematics
4) Mrs. Rajashri Kulkarni – Department of BCA

Cooking Competition AY 2024-25

Ladies association organised cooking competition on 17-12-2024, at Biology Department. The competition comprised 3 categories: starters, main course using paneer and dessert using coconut. In the competitions a number of students took part from all the streams i.e. from BSc, B.C.A. and M.Sc. Judges from various departments were invited to judge the competitions.

Kalakruti AY 2024-25

On 20-12-2024 ladies association organised fine arts competitions under the title ‘KALAKRUTI”. Kalakruti is a fine arts competition in which all creative competitions will be held. This included- Rangoli –Free hand, Dotted, Prop, Mehandi-Arabic, Indian, Pot Painting, Face Painting, Bridal Makeup, Mandala Art, best out of waste, Wall Hanging. In all these competitions a number of students took part from all the streams i.e. BSc, BCA and MSc. Judges from different departments were invited to judge the competitions. For each category there were 3 judges. Hence all ladies faculty of GSS college was engaged in the KALAKRUTI

Prize Distribution AY 2024-25

On 24-01-2025 Ladies association organised prize distribution to the prize winners of the competitions organised by ladies association throughout the year 2024-25. Ladies association also felicitated Principal Shri. Aravind Halgekar sir, who was the vice president, of gymkhana club from last many years.

Internaltional Women Day 2024-25

On march 11th we organised world women’s day celebration. On the occasion we invited Mrs. Soumya Shetter from NABL lab GSS college as a resource person. Soumya spoke on stress management and women’s health. All the lady staff of GSS college were invited on the occasion.

Cooking Competition AY 2023-24

On 11-08-2023 ladies association organised Cooking competitions. Competition comprised 3 categories-Starter-Soup, Snacks-students choice and Main course-Millets as one of the in gradient. Girl students took keen interest in cooking competition. Judges from different departments were invited to judge the skills of participants

Kalakruti AY 2023-24

On 24-01.2024 GSS college ladies association organised a fine arts competition under the title “Kalakruti” we organised it on 24-01-2024.A number of competitions namely rangoli, mehndi, best out of waste, mandap decoration etc. For this event students from all streams of UG and PG, and BCA, students participated and enjoyed the event Judges from various departments of GSS College were invited for judging the events.
