INTER-CLASS CHESS COMPETITION REPORT

The Minor Games Department of GSSc College organized a Chess Competition on February 11, 2025, at the Indoor Stadium. The event brought together students from the BCA, B.Sc, and M.Sc courses The competition began with inauguration ceremony in the presence of Prof. Prashant Mankale (Physical Education Director), Dr. Basavaraj Goundadkar (Chairperson of the Minor Games Department), Prof. Sheetal Lingsoor and Prof. Smeeta Chavan (Members of the Minor Games Department), Mr.AdityaPundi (BCA) and Mr.AmeyKundekar (B.Sc) (Secretaries of the Minor Games Department), and GMC Council members. The competition followed the standard rules of chess and was conducted with individual participation. There were 22 Boy’s participants and 10 Girl’s participants.

  2. 2nd place: Mr.Manthan Sunil Patil (B.Sc 2nd Year)
  3. 3rd place: Mr.KumareshBasayyaMathapati (M.Sc 1st Year)

In the Girl’s Section:

  1. 1st place: Miss. SonaliYallappaBelgundkar (B.Sc 2nd Year)
  2. 2nd place: Miss. NamitaNamdevGurav (BCA 2nd Year)
  3. 3rd place: Miss. Harshita Rajesh Pujar (M.Sc 2nd Year)


INTER-CLASS TENNIKOIT COMPETITION REPORT

The Dept. of Minor Games of GSS College organized a Tennikoit Competition on March 18, 2025, in the Ground. The event brought together students from the BCA and B.Sc courses for a day of showcasing their spottiness. The competition began with inauguration ceremony in the presence of Prof. R.T.Katamble (Vice President of GMC), Prof. Prashant Mankale (Physical Education Director), Dr. Basavaraj Goundadkar (Chairperson of the Minor Games Department), Prof. Sheetal Lingsoor and Prof. Smeeta Chavan (Members of the Minor Games Department), Mr. Aditya Pundi (BCA) and Mr. Amey Kundekar (B.Sc) (Secretaries of the Minor Games Department). The competition followed the standard rules of Tennikoit and was conducted with 2 people’s of a Team participation. There were 12 boy’s team, 6 girl’s team and 8 combined teams.

GSS Women's Chess Team Shines at Intercollegiate Competition

The GSS Women’s Chess Team showcased exceptional talent and teamwork at the Intercollegiate Chess Competition organized by C.S.B. Arts, S.M.R.P. Science, and G.L.R. Commerce College, Ramdurg. Competing against some of the finest players, the team achieved an impressive 2nd place, making their mark in the tournament.

Their outstanding performance was made possible not only by their dedication and skills but also through the constant guidance and encouragement of Prashant Mankale Sir, the Physical Education and Sports Coordinator. His mentorship played a crucial role in motivating and preparing the team for the competition.

Interclass Football Tournament 2024

The much-awaited Interclass Football Tournament 2024 culminated in an exhilarating finale. The tournament commenced with a grand inauguration on 10th June, graced by the esteemed presence of:

  • PUC Physical Director Vinay Sir
  • Ball Games Chairperson P. S. Patil Sir
Their encouragement, along with the participation of enthusiastic players and the dedicated support of the GSS Council, made the event a grand success.
In the thrilling final match, BCA 2nd Year (4th Sem) B Division emerged as the WINNERS, showcasing incredible teamwork and skill.
Congratulations to the champions and all participants for making this tournament a memorable one!

Inter-Class Basketball Tournament 2024

The Inter-Class Basketball Tournament 2024 was a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, inclusivity, and competitive spirit, uniting our school community on the basketball court. This annual event showcased the exceptional talent and dedication of our students, with both boys’ and girls’ teams participating in full fervor.
This year’s tournament featured 6 boys’ teams and 5 girls’ teams, each bringing unique energy and enthusiasm to the competition. Across two action-packed days, the court witnessed intense matches filled with determination and teamwork.

    • Nine matches unfolded, including:
      • 3 boys’ matches filled with grit and strategy.
      • 5 girls’ matches showcasing skill and resilience.
