The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the largest uniformed youth organization in India, established with the aim of instilling discipline, leadership, and a sense of patriotic duty among the youth. It was formed under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948 and operates under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
The NCC offers structured training to students from schools and colleges, covering both military and community service activities. It is open to both male and female cadets and is divided into the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings. Through regular parades, camps, adventure activities, and social service programs, NCC helps build character, confidence, and leadership qualities among young citizens.
The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline”, reflecting its core values of national integration and personal integrity. NCC cadets actively contribute to nation-building by participating in relief efforts, awareness campaigns, and environmental initiatives, making them responsible and empowered members of society.

Organizational Structure
The Belagavi Group operates under the Karnataka & Goa Directorate, headquartered in Bangalore. Specifically, it is the 25, 26 Karnataka Battalion and 8 Air SQN NCC, located in Jadhav Nagar, Belagavi, overseen by a Group Commander.
Training Includes
Weekly institutional parades (approx. 15–18 sessions per year).
Camp training – 10-day camps emphasizing practical, adventure-based leadership skills.
Participation in Combined Annual Training Camps (CATC) and other leadership and national-level camps.

Brief Profile
The NCC in came into existence on 15 July 1948. The NCC in India was formed with the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948. The NCC is the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forceswith its headquarters in New Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis as a Tri-Services Organisation, comprising the Army, the navy and the Air wing, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The soldier youth foundation in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, higher secondary, colleges and universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and drill. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course.

Aims of NCC

To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.

Cadets Anuragh Kulkarni from our college recieved 2nd prize in debate.

NCC Students Lead Campus Cleanliness Drive in Celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan -02/10/2024
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and in alignment with the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) students of our college organized a campus-wide cleanliness drive on 2nd October 2024. This initiative was conducted to honor Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and self-sufficient India, and to reinforce the importance of cleanliness as part of our daily lives.
Guided by faculty members and NCC officers, the cadets took charge of cleaning various areas across the campus, including classrooms, corridors, and outdoor spaces. Their dedication ensured a cleaner, greener environment and fostered greater awareness about the significance of maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the community.
The college administration commends the efforts of the NCC cadets and encourages all students to adopt the principles of cleanliness and sustainability, as envisioned by the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Mahatma Gandhi.
