‘KANNADA KALOSTAV PROGRAMME’
To reflect the culture and tradition of Kannada literature, the Department of Kannada in collaboration with Maths Department of G.S.S.College, was organised ‘KANNADA KALOSTAV PROGRAMME’ on 27th Nov 2024. Dr.P.G.Keppennavar of
R.L.Law College was the Chief Guest of morning session and Dr.K.S.Doddamani was the Chief Guest of Evening session. In this programme Principal Prof.A.A.Halageakr sir, Prof.Nagasuresh Sir support us a lot and Prof.Annapurna Kalaburgi taken an effort for the success of the programme.
In this programme three competitions were held i.e KAVYA-SINCHAN, PRASHNA-MANJUSHA, VAGMITYE and prizes were given to the students also cultural programme was arranged by students. All the students enjoyed a lot and reproduced their talents.
‘FDP Programme’
On 21st January 2025, The Department of languages in collaboration with IQAC has organised FDP programme. The Chief Guest speaker was Dr.Milind. Sardar,CSR Head, Madhavbag and President of the programme was Prof.Madhuri Shanbhag, Chairman GSS Degree College Managing Committee. The function was also graced by the presence of Prof.S.Y.Prabhu,Vice-Chairman, SKE Society’s, Famous Marathi Actor Shri. Prasad Pandit, Principals of GSS and RPD, PU and Degree colleges, all the staff members were also witnessed the function. Mrs.Sonali Kangale, Lecturer in Marathi, taken all the charge of the function.
“ESSAY COMPETITION”
Language department in associated with Magazine Committee conducted “ESSAY COMPETITION” on 13th February 2025 in four languages (English/Kannada/Marathi/Hindi). 15 students in English, 23 students in Kannada, 03 students in Hindi and 08 students in Marathi, total 50 students had actively participated in the competition.
‘SHIV JAYANTI PROGRAMME’
The Department of languages in association with library celebrated “SHIV JAYANTI” programme to give tribute to great Emperor Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj on 19th February 2025 in library with Powada, Speech and latikati. The programme was also graced by presence of Principals of GSS and RPD, PU and Degree colleges, all the teaching, non-teaching staff members and students were also witnessed the programme.
National Seminar on ‘MARATHICHYA BOLI’
Marathi Department of Rani Channama University has organised National Seminar on “MARATHICHYA BOLI ” on Friday 28th March 2025 at Sarswati Vachanalay. Twenty Marathi students had actively participated and presented a Skit,Poem on “Belgavachi Boli”.
Special Lecture on “VINODI SAHITYA and KATHA LEKHAN”
Marathi department had organised a special lecture on “VINODI SAHITYA and KATHA LEKHAN” on 1st April 2025 for B.Sc and B.C.A 2nd Sem students. 40 students of B.Sc and B.C.A 2ND sem students were attended the lecture. The Guest Speaker was Prof.Subhash Sunthankar, retired professor of GSS College
‘HANDWRITTING COMPETITION’
Language department in association with library and Magazine committee conducted ‘HANDWRITTING’ competition in four languages (English/Marathi/Kannada/Hindi) on 21st April 2025 in the library. 45 students in English, 29 students in Kannada, 19 students in Hindi and 23 students in Marathi, total 120 students had actively participated in the competition
‘ESSAY COMPETITION’ was organised by the Language Department in association with Magazine Committee on 29th June 2024 in Ghotge Building, in all the four languages i.e. English, Marathi, Hindi, and Kannada. Three topics were given to the participants; students were instructed to choose any one topic out of three. Nearly 70 students were participated in this competition.
SHIV JAYANTI AND MARATHI BHASHA DIWAS
The Marathi department in association with the Cultural Department organized an event called “CHATRAPATI” on the occasion of Marathi Bhasha divas on 27th February 2024. The programme was inaugurated in the morning by Shri.Kiran Thakur, Chairman SKE Society’s. The function was also graced by presence of Prof.S.Y.Prabhu,Vice-Chairman, SKE Society’s, Principals of GSS and RPD PU and Degree colleges, all the staff members were also witnessed the function. Mrs.Sonali Kangale,Lecturer of Marathi, thanked all the dignitaries, staff members and students. The programme was followed by cultural activities at K.M.GIRI HALL at 3pm. Many activities were conducted and students took active participation in the events. Also Prof.B.L.Majukar, Principal,GSS college helped and supported us to a great extent.

PRIZE DISTRIBUTION OF HANDWRITING COMPETITION

The prize distribution ceremony for awardees was organised on 10TH JULY 2024 at Ranade Hall,Prof.B.L.Majukar principal G.S.S. was invited as the chief guest for the felicitation function. Mrs.Namita Samant,Librarian G.S.S. College, Prof.Sonali Kangale,Head Language Department shared the stage with our honourable Chief guest. All the three dignitaries did the honour to the winners with the prize money.
